2nd Orientation :)

so yesterday which was thursday april 9th, was our 2nd & 3rd orientation, but this blo is about orientation number 2. the differences between the first and second orientation wasnt that extensive but yenno there were a few here and there. one difference was with my group i had, for the first orientation when i had to give a tour to a group, the group i had was very talkative and very sweet to me, they asked a lot of questions and the would joke around with me, they were a fun group lol. they were cool, but then at the second orientation, the group i had was only boys & they were pretty quiet, i think maybe i wasnt as friendly in my opening as i was at the first orientation so they were kind of intimidating? & the fact that the second group i did a teacher came along so the kids couldnt goof around and be themselves with me, so it was boring & nobody wanted to ask questions when im pretty sure they had some. also another difference was probably how kalepo was here this time so our group dance was easier, we didnt need to improvise his part about cell phones on campus so it was much easier. a third difference was that there were way more kids the second time around so during the tour it was kinda harder to find our own spot in the courtyard and everywhere else because there were so many groups going around at the same time. in my opinion i think the first orientation was better only because i had more fun & it seemed smoother since there was less kids there at the orientation also my 6th grade teachers were there so yeah. also i think everyone had more fun the first time, i dont really know why it just seemed like everyone was having more fun the first time. maybe because it was the first time we experienced it so everyone was excited and nervous. thats probably why lol. another thing i think was better between the two was that the kids were nicer at the first orientation? idk maybe becaise most of our leadership kids are from holomua which was one of the schools that were there so the kids were like happy that their school was representing the school in a good way, like when jah was annoucing the officers and most of them were from holomua all of the holomua kids were screaaam for us and cheer, but the second orientation it was quiet while annoucing it lol. 

some changes that couldve probably benfitted that orientation would have been starting practicing ahead so we wouldve been ready earlier and maybe more practices like how last year they said they had more dress rehersals and they were way more ahead on time than we were. other than that the orientation went hella well, we kicked butt. everyone did good when speaking and the dances went good lol, tiana did pretty good with emceeing the fashion show too. good job tee! lol but yeah the only change probably wouldve been that we needed more practice so we couldve been more confident with our performance, even though we were pretty confidant already. 

some things i liked about the second orientation was again the face that kalepo was there because it was easier with him in the dance since were had an even amount of people so everyone would have a partner but wothout him taven didnt have a partner, also he was the example for the phone so when he wasnt there tiana had to improvise, because she didnt realize that taven would take over his spot soo yaa. that part was easier the second time. i also liked being on stage, not only the second orientation but the first one too. i just like being on stage presenting to big crowds lol i feel important i guess, like im what everyons focused on, "the spotlights on me" thats pretty cheesy but true lol, i like being under pressure, i surprise myself lydaat. and yeah of course i liked giving my speech about uplink, i felt super professional lolol. some things i didnt like was like how i said there were kids the second time so it was harder to give the tour. & how my group was more shy and probably didnt get to ask the questions they wanted to which i feel bad about. i probably scared the little childreeeen ahhh. haha. 

1st orientation

this assignment blog is for our first orientation of this year, well theres only two but this is the first one we had, and for me the very first one ive done. the orientation is when 6th graders come from certain schools for example today ewa beach elementary & holomua elemenatary came to our school. they come to pretty much learn about the school and see how/ experience how the school is from us (the leadership kids). they learn from us like what we do at the school and how the school works, so we pretty much had to study about the school so we could answer any questions the students wouldve had. also, we had to give the students a tour being dressed up as a certain ethnicity that we have. i did german since im partially german from my dads side and dressed up as a little german girl lol. 

some higlights from this assignment would probably be the tour, my group for the tour was super cool haha, the kids were really funny and sweet to me and it was really nice to get to meet some of the future 7th graders that would be coming to ilima next year (hopefully). also after the orientation ended a 6th grader told me to call him LOLOLOL it was funny. oh and also my speech, i thought i dod pretty good, but maybe couldve worked on the figiting i guess, but ehh ill geddem on thursday no worrehs. ;) a lowlight might have been that we had to rush while changing and i was scared i put my german costume on wrong lol but no it was fine! but another lowlight mightve been that i didnt get to give a tour to the class with my 6th grade teacher i wanted to have her as my group to hive a tour to lol, but othe rthan that it was pretty good! 

GLO's: 1st glo, self directed learner; i was a self directed learner for being responcible for my speech that i had to say. 2nd glo, community contributer; i was a community contributer by helping my classmates get dressed for fashion show. 3rd glo, complex thinker; i was a complex thinker by helping problem solve for the fact that kalepo wasnt there and we had to go without him. 4th glo, quality producer; i was a qulity producer by trying my best with my speech & the grouo dance. 5th glo, effective communicator; i was an effective communicator by asking questions or asking for help when i needed it like asking lori to help me with my suspenders lol. last glo, good user of technology; i was.. that lol by using the mic correctly i guess lolol. 

lastly my lesson is that i need to always be prepared, i had to wake up early to get ready for orientation but i went to sleep late last night which was a bad idea, i was sooo tired today my math teacher caught me fallinng asleep in class, it was kinda embarrassing omg. but ya BE PREPARED CHILDREN.

soo, todays been a long time & im not feeling good so ima try to make this blog a little shorter than usual! sorry to whevers reading this lmfao. so this week period 5 worked tv, but i didnt get to work because we had to work the forms & stuff. & the whole week we had to stay in the class room 'nd practiced for orientation coming up on tuesday. but mondays periods were 1,3,5&4. period 1 was soccer. period 3 was notes, period 5 was orientation practice. & period 4 was just math stuff idk lol. tuesdays periods were 2,4,6&5. period 2 was SBAC! so stressful. period 4 was more random stuff i dont remember lol. period 6 was notes. period 5 was orientation. wednesdays periods were 3,5&1. period 3 was notes. period 5, orientation practice. period 1, more soccer. thursdays periods were 4,6&2. period 4, CFA i think. period 6, just a game lol. period 2, SBAC again ew. then no school friday bc good friday. 

highlight was probably wednesday, because it was an easy day and it was the first day to my birth month! which im hella excited for lol, birthdays are always cool i guess. escpecially mine, ayyy. 

lesson would be, to be thankful for what you have and dont do anything you wouldnt want your kids to when theyre your age, i really had to think about that this week, it was a harrd, lonng week for me! but im happy that its over, one week closer to being 13, lol. 

busy weeks, hawh

so this week was pretty busy but also pretty short and super fun all combined lolol. but monday i wasnt at school because i was in california all fay so were gonna skip that. tuesdays periods were 4,6,2&1. in period 4, we did area and circumference of circles. in period 6, we learned all the islands and stuff. in period 2 we did sbac practice which was boring. and in period 1, we did critical read. wednesdays periods were 5,1&3. in period 5 we worked on orientation stuff. in period 1, we played soccer. in period 3, we took a quiz i think lol i dont remember. thursday we didnt have school so skiiip. fridays periods were 6,2,4&3. in period 6, we worked on the islands again. in period 2, mor sbac practice. in period 4, worked on irregular shapes and stuff. in period 3, was pretty much free time lol. 

highlight was probably thursday because i was with taylor, tiana, and jordan they were all cool lolol. it was fun i guess and i got super sunburnt from it so yaaa, but it was fun and i guess a good way to spend my day off of school lolol. 

lesson learned is not to keep secrets, i kept a secret from my mom and i got in hugge trouble from it and now i cant go watch the football game tmr which is so sucky. but ugh i guess thats what i get for not doing what i was told, to tell the truth. but the football game wouldve been hella fun tho, im pissed that i cant go. :(  

Qt 3? done

soo a summary of this quarter is gonna be hard, it was really long tiring quarter so many things happened bot just leadership wise but in my life and withing just school in general, he was spirit week this quarter, and track, andd so much more omg. it was hella crazy this quarter but i could handle it, this quarter a new rule came out that if we go on probabtion then we loose our vest and CANT get it back until the end of the quarter, which was a very scary thing because AR is hard to keep up with escpecially if you have a high ar goal like mine was 33 like whoahhhhh thats really high, but luckily i kept up because i found a book series to get me through each week, except on the last week i ran out of books to read so i couldnt finish my last week ar goal which i was really dissapointed about because thats the first time i didnt reach it but its also kinda okay because it was the last week so i didnt actually like miss out on being able to work because well yeah it was the last week there was no work to miss hahaha, and also we had spurut week which we had to prepare for thought pretty much the whole quarter which was hecktic (if thats how you spell it lol). but we pulled through and it was a pretty good spirit week i would think, i think everything went well and my team actually won spirit week so thats pretty cool lol, and it was a fun expirence being able to help out and like work to make the spirit week happen like i feel very accomplished, like im usefull lmao. but yeah it was a good quarter and im proud of what i accomplished. 

whoah i learned so many things this quarter because well it was a crazy quarter not just because of spirit week or other leadership stuff but my personal life, i went through some crazy things that im glad that i pulled through and beame a better person because of it. i like how i handled all of my obsticals this quarter im pretty proud of who ive become over the quarters. i learned that friends are forever, theyre important & that theyll always be there for you because hello theyre your friends thats their job! but im glad that i had the friends that i did this quarter, it was good choices i made throught the quarter which im proabbly saying a lot throughout this blog but yenno its true im proud of myself and everything ive accomplished, and the things i need to work on im working on it, but my main lesson is that you need friends in your life so dont be shy to make friends because they might become very close to you or become liek your best friend over time and youll be happy that you said hi first i stead of just ignoring them like any other person probably would. 

a highlight? a specific highlight of this wholeeeee quarter was uhh dang probably the track meet, u mean yeah it doesnt have anything to do with leadership but im super happy about the track meet like, it went really well and it benefitted me so much just from it, like my track coach bought my running shoes that i used for my races with probably is one of the causes that i wonmy races i probably couldnt have done it without those running shes mr.shim bought for me to use. i ran 3 of the many races that day and honestly i probably couldve ran more or at least one more because idk i felt like i wasnt as tired as i thought i would be afte rthe meet like i couldve done more, i ran an open 400, which i got 1st place in my heat but 2nd place over all, then i ran two relay races. the first one was a 4 by 1 with me, jaelyn, sierra, & naya were in, lol and guess who got first place? us! yee'. then the second race was the medley, i ran the 4th leg on that race and again we got 1st place but this time we had me, sierra, jaelyn, and tiana running. ehich was a pretty solid team to run with too. but yeah thats a memory i wont forget for a while, and when i think about "3rd quarter" this memory will probably come to mind. :) 

i couldnt just pick one picture that i wanted to use for this quarters blog so im gonna just use a bunch that i think is a good representation of this quarter for me, i love all these pictures (kinda perky thing to say but its g) and yeah heres 3rd quarter pi tures hummie.

track meet & spring break ayy

so this week seemed to go by pretty fast, it seems to have been like one of the best weeks in a while, i wish i had more weeks like this honestly. on monday i came to school during the third period of the day because i wanted to finish my english project before i came to school so i could get a good grade which i think i did btw haha yee'. but for that periods i were there on monday, period 2 & 3 (english & science). in english yeah we shared our projects on "admirable leaders" and in science we worked on our science projects of the different time eras. then we had track practice and i ran a 400 in 1 minute and 14 seconds which i was super happy about, because i used to run it in about 1:21 or around there & also it was getting pretty exciting because it was the last week of track practice so it was cool. then on tuesday the periods were 5,1,3&2. in period 5 we had to dress 8th graders for graduation pictures and me and jayde had to dress the boys it was super funny. then period 1 we played volleyball and i got yelled at for calling cashius a monkey bwahhaha so dumb. then period 3 in science we worked on our projects AGAINNN. thenn in period 2 we did sbac practice stuff which was tiring, but after school i was with daryboo and jordizzle at boys and girls club and it was super fun lmfao. then wednesdays periods were 6,2&4. in period 6 i ditched, to work for leadership lol to help with the graduation pictures again. period 2, was more presenting and period 4 learned about circumfrence and areas of circles which idk i kinda had a hard time but not really. then we had track practice again and we practiced passing batons for our relay races me & sierra are pros at it already. then THURSSSDAYYY was the trackk meeet, and im really thankful to mr.shim who bought me track shoes because i didnt have any myself which was super nice of him and i can never repay him for that, it helped a ton in my races and im just really greatful for it lol, i ran three races and won in all of my heats but got second place over all in my open 400 but thats okayy it was still a good race. and my relay team was on point ayy. we got second place that day but not beause we werent fast enough but because we didnt have a lot of boys to compete so ewa makai got a lot of points from that. but its okay next track meet we gon win. fridays periods were 2,4,6&1. period 2 was just bullying stuff and games since it was the last day before srping break. period 4 was areas of triangles which was lame we got homework for slring break like whyyy. then period 6 we had a test, which i didnt study at all i didnt even know what was on the test or any of the answers because i was absent the two periods that it was taught but i still got a 51 out of 60 which is either an A or B but idk, but thats still a pretty good grade tbh. then in advisory we got pizza and i got a doughnut from my team because we had a party since we won spirit week and it was the last day before break then for period one we played the human knot and cashius bit me because i chin-upped him, it hurt lmfao then after school a boy made me a cupcake because he has a crush on me that was super cute lol & also kinda awkward but mostely cute ahha then i went home with taylor and we were chefs who made brownies, better than you could ever make em then had a party. then today (saturday) i had a volleyball tournament and won 6 of the 8 games, which is like the best weve done in a tournament so far, because were still getting used to played against 14 year olds but still thats pretty good. so yeah this week is a pretty bomb ass week. :)

highlight was thursday because of the track meet i was so happy with winning all my races and having track shoes like im super happy with what happened like otr it was a really fun experience i got close with a bunch of people and it met new people too, like im really happy that i joined track frl frl. 

lesson learned is that you gotta be greatful, like im REALLY thankful for mr.shim buying me shoes, voulentarily, liek he didnt have to do that but he did it anyways to help benefit the track team and me in my race, i probably wouldve have done as good without them and im super greatful for them & always will be. 

SPIRIT WEEK

sooo this week was spirit week and it was a hella crazy week for leadership but like really fun tho, everyday was a dress out day and we all had to come at 6:30 in the morning it was super crazy haha. mondays dress out day was sports day and the periods of the dat were 5,1,3&6. tuesdays dress out was neon day and the periods were 6,2,4&5. wednesday was TAYLORS BIRTHDAYYYYY & the dress out was hawaii day, and tbe periods were 1,3&5. thursdays dress out was military and the periods were 2,4&6. then on friday was team color day so we could wear our team color or team shirt, which team 7-2 was surprised with our own shirts.  on monday & tuesday 7-2 lost the scavenger hunt but wednesday and thursday we won the scavenger hunt, we also won some of the mini activities like the airplane thing & stuff, we and we got 2nd place for the cheer off right after 8-3 & also got second place in chain links after 7-3 becauase mr.shim helped them lolol. and over all 7-2 won won sprit week which was HELLA EXCITING, everyone was happy about it, it was pretty cool. 

hughlight was definatly friday because we had cheer off and we got to wear our team shirts and paint our faces we wond the relay & also we found out that we won spirit week, it was pretty cool. and a really cool week over all i was pretty happy with the end result of everything, it all went the wah it was supposed to and im happy with it. 

lesson was that team work is very important to be able to succeed, you cant always do things on just your own, that doesnt help you or others, helping eachother is best for everyone, like everyone needed to participate in our dress out days so we could win, if we didnt all work together and dress out we wouldnt have won.
