my very first assignment blog
for our very first assignment blog we made a bio cube, a bio cube is a box with a topic about ourselves on each side. the six topics were; personality, background, picture, obstical, significance, and quotation. the bio cube was basically to give eachother more information about ourselves so we could get to know eachother better. I spent hours writing then re-writing each paragraph of every topic because I wanted to make sure that it was true and everything was meaningful.
if I could name one high-light of this assignment it would have to be sharing the "personality" side of my bio cube, mainly because I got to explain to everyone how I am when you first me and and how the way I act could change over the time of meeting me. If I could name one low-light of this assignment it would have to be writing the "obstical" side of my bio cube, and that was mainly because I had to think really hard about all of the upsetting thing that I dislike about myself and which would affect me the most, so writing that small paragraph put me in a bad mood and that was probably the least "fun" thing to happen throughout this whole assignment. but in the end I had a lot of fun doing this assignment, learning about everyone in period 5, and where everyone comes from. (listening to the "background" side of their bio cube when we presented) something I could have done to make my assignment better for me would have to have been to rehearse what I would has more, I feel like I wasn't prepared enough, I sometimes caught myself figiting and stuttering due to the pressure and nerves of not being ready.
A big lesson that I learned throughout this assignment was not to be ashamed of who you are, I learned a whole lot when all of the girls talked about their "background" & "personality" and nobody was ashamed of where they came from or what their personality is like. ultimately they weren't afraid to be themselves and to be themselves in front of anyone who could critisize them.
I choose to believe that I used all 6 of my GLO's while doing this assignment. I believe that I was being a self directed learner throughout this assignment, because I was responsible enough to finish it on time and work on it efficiently on my own. I believe that I was being a community contributor throughout this assignment, because while we shared our diffrent sides of our bio cube, I
helped support them and pay attention to them when they needed us to. I believe I was being a complex thinker throughout this assignment, because while building the cube for the bio cube, we had to think of ways to cover the box with construction paper so we wouldn't be able to see the cardboard, and I thought of my own creative way that I would say helped me out more than to just copying the other people around me, because I used less paper and I'm happy with the way my cube came out. I believe that I was being a quality producer throughout this assignment, because I spent a lot of my time to make my bio cube as best I could. I worked really hard to make sure my bio cube was in good quality and it was something that I was sure that I could be proud of. i believe that i was being an effective communicator throughout this assignment, because whenever I had any quotions about the assignment I wasn't afraid to ask my group leaders or Mr. Ing. I asked whatever and whenever I needed to make sure that my assignment was done properly! (:
I believe that I was being an effective and ethical user of technology throughout this assignment, because I had to use a variety of technological items. to type, to print, and to search any information that I needed for this assignment in particular.
for this assignment we had to share our bio cubes in 3 different circumstances. the first one being right in front of our audience, so we could talk calmly and wouldn't have to raise our voice for everyone to hear. the second one being very far away from our audience. I mean the speaker on the opposite side of the cafeteria as the audience, kind of far away. in that instance we had to speak louder, for the audience to hear us better and understand what were saying. the last place being speaking outside with our audience, with all of the animals and outside noises in the background. so we would have to speak even louder so the audience wouldn't get distracted with all of the other sounds that would be there as well. we use different voices in our everyday lives, it could be to call somebody from far away, or to tell somebody a secret but we use them all the time, and it's important because you wouldn't want to use an innaproriate voice to speak to people.

a week of actual school :)
the highlight if this week was most likely Wednesday because is got to be on tv, and even though tiana was really nervous when she had to go on tv, I never was. I was only excited and I'm pretty sure everyone could tell. as I said before in my summary everybody asked me why I looked so happy. ^
the lesson I learned this week was to clean up after ourselves. because we get many privileges being in leadership as one of them getting to eat snakes during class, but some of us took advantage of that and left our mess around and that wasn't "nice" so we learned that cleaning up after ourselves is important to a clean and good environment.

first week of school (:
soo, it was finally the first week of school! everyone seemed pretty nervous, but I wasn't. I was way too excited about going to a new school and meet a bunch of new people. Monday was pretty fun, we got to see all of our class's and it was only us 7th graders ruling the school. I don't think it could've gone any better than it did! (: then after the pretty long day at school me, cheana, and tiana went fishing, I caught way more fish than last time. I wish I could say the same about Tuesday. It was Eighth graders turn to rule the school and us 7th graders were supposed to be working, to help the leadership team and get ready for Wednesday where both 7th and 8th graders went to school together. But he hadn't listened done the best job at listening to instructions so we didn't do much for the rest of the day as our punishment, but we did talk about the problem and came to a solotion that we could all agree on, which was to do what is important before anything else. Wednesday was a much better day when we had both 7th and eighth grade at school. Our class's were 1,3, and 5; which means I had art, which we mostly went over syllabus and and the class expectations. science, which was the same thing, just sharing the syllabus. and leadership, where we shared our bios and obviously the syllabus. my favorite combination so far because art is fun, I have science with tiana and deriecka, and leadership is with you guys so it's fabulousssssss. The day went by pretty fast except when we had to do cafe duty, all the eighth graders were staring and it was weird LOL. same as thursday we had cafe again, and some eighth graders said "hi" to us and asked us our names, I guess they recognized us from the day before? I don't know but our Thursday class's were 2, 4, which was English where we again just went over the syllabus and the and class rules. math where we againnnnnn just went over the syllabus and rules, and social studies where surprisingly went over the syllabus and rules which was the same as all of the other class's. I think math is May favorite out of the three on that day, I have a cool math teacher! and pretty much every teacher warned us about the hurricane that didn't even happen, well at least we got no school on Fridayy so that was fun. So on Friday I slept in then watched the news like everybody else waiting for this huge storm to happen, then thankfully it never did so that's pretty good.
the highlight of my week was, probably Monday. I finally got to see my fiends again after the "semi-long" summer that we had and I even got to see some peopel who used to go to holomua then left. It was a pretty good experience to see everyone again after being separated for a while. we all needed some time away from eachother after being around eachother for so long. I'm very excited to be in Ilima and have the new break schedule and especially the normal grading system! this years going to be fun.
the lesson I learned this week was to do the most important things you're told to do FIRST, don't procrastinate or do somthig you think is more fun or would be easier. Me along with the rest of the 7th graders know better now, and will most likely make the right desisioms from now on, and learned from what happened on Tuesday and use it as an example of what NOT to do. LOL.
byee basics have a good weekend ((:

Last work week! ❥
So this was a pretty chill week, but also pretty fun. On Monday I had to miss leadership because I had to go to the summer fun clean up, all the junior leaders had to come and clean up the mess we made over the summer then we got to eat the food they brought for us. There was chicken katsu, so it was worth it! Tuesday I had to come to leadership at 8 in the morning because pd.5 had the first shift, first we hanged up card with names on it in the chorus room as a project for the teachers, then just helped whoever came to register who didn't get to on Friday. Wednesday was kind of the same as the day before, we just helped whoever came to register or take their ID pictures, but after leadership ended at 2:00; me, Cheana, Tiana, and some of Cheana's friends went straight to the mall to watch the Purdge; Anarchy, which wasn't as good as we were hoping, but it was alright. then we just wandered around the mall, getting food and window shopping because we had no money left. Friday was our field trip to the Alamoana Beach park, we had lunch there and we got to just bond with each other as Mr.Ing told us the expectations of the year and what he was proud of so far through out the few weeks of working with us. Theeeen on Friday, Cheana took Tiana and I fishing, then went to my house for a sleepover. LOL, we went night swimming and ate pies that I found in my fridge. It was a fun week, and I'm very nervous about next week, which is the first week of middle school!
The highlight of this week was no questions asked Wednesday! I finally got to bond with everyone in leadership! I haven't really gotten to meet them since I always had to go to Summer Fun instead of being with my fellow classmates of leadership, haha. I've gotten to see everyone's personalities and what I'm going to be around for this next upcoming year. And I'm happy about it, I wouldn't want to be with anybody else!
I've learned this week that; if you want something done, you have to do it! Don't wait around for somebody to do it for you, you have to be outgoing! Try the things that you want to try, and do the things that you want to do. If your friends don't support you, they're not your true friends.. not that some of my friends didn't support any decisions I've made this week, but I've seen some that have. And I've taken it to consider for my future. I've also learned from Mr.Ing that not everyone is going to like you, and you're not going to like everyone. You will just have to deal with it.
